@carins - You've been pretty good about giving feedback, even trying a deck that nobody else was any more. Even though you didn't have success with it, that still helped others avoid it too. Keep reporting how things are going, even if it's bad it still helps.

In general any huge misplays belong in the SF thread with a log, any deck micro-optimizations that can be fixed with configs should be talked about here. I know there's some blurred lines that can make it a little confusing but it's important to keep things organized so that the right info can be found in the right place.

I reached rank 6 this season with Standard Midrange Hunter - Dre. Standard mode. in China server winrate about 53%.

Talk about SF code should obviously be in the SF thread.

Hit 5 today with Dre's midrange hunter. Thanks Dre and sepefeets, you guys rock!

I suppose many good players are holding with laddering waiting for adventure, last season I could not get past 8 until the final week of the month.

I found that using Silverfish and ZooLock runs out of time more than 25% of the board turns. This should be removed from the list unless settings are also provided that make it a working deck imo.

Anyone end able to speed it up?

@Nitsujo - The settings file for ANY deck is usually tuned for the deck builder's pc and there is no real solution to the problem of people having different hardware. I used rather low settings for my zoo lock with that in mind because zoo is computationally intensive with all the minions it floods the board with but if you see it roping then you need to lower the settings further or get better hardware.

Decks will only be removed if they fall completely out of meta. If they are still ~rank 10 then they will stay on the list because the meta could shift back or small tweaks could bring them back up. This thread isn't about copy pasting perfect settings, it's about collaborating to try to make them work.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know that the number of 5000 was the one that you had to adjust to do less calcs for slower PCs. The computer I have this running on at the moment is far from a gaming computer. I am considering lowering the value below 4000.

Is this the number that makes the bot perform faster on slower PCs? Is there anything else that iI am able to adjust?

Edit: I found the generator. I am trying out the settings below on my side PC Dell 660s (Old one)

enfacehp = 29;
maxwide = 3000;
twotsamount = 600;
simEnemySecondTurn = true;
playarround = true;
playaroundprob = 50;
playaroundprob2 = 80;
enemyTurnMaxWide = 12;
enemyTurnMaxWideSecondTime = 120;
enemySecondTurnMaxWide = 12;
nextTurnDeep = 6;
nextTurnMaxWide = 12;
nextTurnTotalBoards = 120;
useSecretsPlayArround = true;
alpha = 50;
simulatePlacement = true;
useExternalProcess = true;
passiveWaiting = false;
behave = control;
concedeOnBadBoard = false;
speed = false;

Most of the things in settings.txt affect performance but maxwide and twotsamount are probably the most important. If your system is dual core like google suggests it is then you're going to have pretty bad performance since HS and HR usually max out 1 core each so SF will have to contend with them more. Maybe someone with experience on weak hardware can chime in.

You might want to stick to midrange decks though, they usually have less minions on board which means way less possibilities to compute.

Just wondering but does the weight of next turn line affect the opponent's simulation or is it just your next turn?

I'm starting to think you haven't ever read the comments in the default settings file.

@everyone - While working on other stuff I just noticed the "alpha" setting and I don't think I've ever seen anybody change it. It controls how much emphasis is put on your 2nd turn sim results (lots of guessing) vs your 1st (current) turn sim results. I think we should experiment with it, especially lower values, and see how it affects results.

I was referring to the alpha setting lol. I've read all the comments. It says "weight of the second turn in calculation (0<= alpha <= 100)". That could refer to either your turn 2nd turn or the 2nd turn in the calculation i.e the opponent's turn.

I've been tampering with it for the last month and I have it on my zoo deck at 40. The setting I leave it on is based on how important I think the second turn is compared to the current turn.

Bot had a decent day with Standard Midrange Hunter:

http://i.imgur.com/jFLwMZD.jpg

It can't beat mages, but Priest / Druid / Hunter seem to be favorable. Obviously, not a ton of games. I plan to run it all day tomorrow while I'm at work (yes, I know it's patch day, partially why I'm curious how the bot will react) and then I'll report when I get home on how it did. Is everything going to get messed up tomorrow and the subsequent weeks with the patch as the bot has no idea how to deal with a Menagerie Warden or an Arcane Giant or a Barnes etc.?

Another 110+ games, the bot broke even and is still rank 11. Not sure how people are hitting 4, 5 with it 8 days into the season when it can't even break 10 for me

before rank 5 luck is pretty much everything
you can climb with winrate below 50% if you get lucky winstreaks
