@Dre

1) I'd like to help test out decks. Is there a specific thread for this?

2) Do you have any guidelines for how to best test out each deck (eg what to data to capture, how long to run each deck, etc.)?

3) Your decks rock! Do you have guidelines how on how to put together a new deck for testing? (eg mana curve, card synergies, etc)

Thanks Dre!

So the nerf to CotW might change things up a bit.

this is my Secret Paladin. Hit Rank 4 2 times and Rank 5 before adding Eater of Secrets

no particular tuning to any setting aside using silverfish

Thanks Dre!

1 - This thread's main purpose is to discuss how well different decks are doing (ie. testing different decks) but most people have tunnel visioned mid hunter. I've asked multiple times for people to try out more of the kara cards but only 1 person has and everyone should be able to guess who on the first try. Just try all sort of new decks, you don't need any configs to figure out if they are half decent or not.

3 - Literally just go to tempostorm meta snapshot or viscous syndicate data reaper report, look at tier 1-2 decks, and try out any that look easy to play. ie. aggro/mid/tempo decks that mostly just barf onto the board and win.

Don't want to bring too much attention to it, but I saw trump play against Dre's midrange hunter on his road to legend this month. He said things like 'poor mobile player' and 'he must be using a tablet'. Not a single person in his twitch chat cried 'wolf'. To us though it was very obvious. Just wanted to say that the bot has gotten quick enough that it managed to fool trump and about 10k of his viewers even when it was roping out and not attacking with all of his minions.

Edit: forgot the most important detail, trump lost.

Sorry been a bit absent this 2 weeks due a trip and this week also following the 300k Overwatch tournament. To everyone: Thanks for all the love regarding the rank 5's and lower. Again a big shoutout to Sepe for his awsome work on the AI itself. Also try to test out some decks with new cards so Sepefeets is aware on missplays with them. If you don´t know how to read and find misplays in the logs say so and i will write a guide for it.

2 - Pick any deck you think might work and run it (like sepe says on 3) Run it with a setting.txt (the default one) without any other files. Or maby a very small mulligan file. If it has a reasonable winrate after 50 games like 35-50% you can start to read the logs for missplays and fix them in combo (see my guide for it) It's hard to explain, allot is just plain experience aswell. If there are specific things people have troubles with i can write a guide for it.

My educated vision on this:

- Shamans in their current state will get hurt by this. Which is nice because aggro shaman been on top for far to long, I think these changes make it a bit less viable but we have to see how this deck evolves.

- COTW for hunters wont hurt the deck too much. It basicly goes from an insane 8 drop to a very very decent 9-drop. Heck it accualy still good as a 10 mana card... The deck wont change based on that, maybe my tech choise to add ragnaros is even more viable then because it fills the 8-drop spot but the deck will still hit rank 5 (with one change in combo) after this nerf as it is.

In general. This will shake up the meta so we have to see what happens. My goal is to get a rank 5 deck every season, and I have no reasons to fear I can't make this happen.

But i just felt the urge to come back once more, just to once again say - THANK YOU SO MUCH DRE ! And Thanks to every single developer, website-maintainer, card/deck-testers, people with great inputs and everyone else doing anything for this little club! - Please know that even i can't call you by name, every single one - You still ROCK!

So Dre, what would we be replacing for the Rag? I'm more than willing to test a few ideas if you have any?

I tried +1 Leeroy, -1 Scavenging Hyena and had very similar results to your standard deck... Meaning it got to Rank 4 without an issue.

I've always believed Rag is great in your Midrange anyways, due to the synergy with Barnes! Let's hope COTW doesn't impact the deck too much, but this is a perfect time to be testing new things!

We have to wait to see how the meta changes but basically you take any of the existing card substitutions for the deck and swap them in depending how the meta changes. If the meta become more control then you put in rag, if it becomes more aggro then you put in double unleash and maybe even aoes.

CotW is still strong at 9 or even 10 mana but the main downside of the extra cost is that you can't fit in a steady shot if you draw it at 10 mana.

If you want to test something, test something other than mid hunter!

Using Dres hunter and Hit Rank 5 on EU just now.

But holy crap from 12PM CET to 6Pm CET it was brutal, i dropped from rank 6 to rank 9 with losing streaks. Even lost against warlocks several times.

Bot climbed back to rank 6 around 9PM CET and I manually hit Rank 5 just in case.

thanks!

testing with Hunter deck with Curator and 2 Azure drakes on NA right now start from rank 13, let's see how far it gets

Might be considered a bit off-topic. But here we go.

The Bot just DRAFTED and took a mage deck to a 12-2 Arena Run ! ALL by it self. Opened arena, picked the cards, played the games, and went 12-2...!! This bot is strong as ****! WOW!

Sure, i am using the same silverfish that is on the front page of this thread right now - and i have updated HearthRanger to version 6.2.7.0 today - And that is about it.
I believe all other settings are just purely standard. I have been using Dre's Hunterdeck and all the settings from his files too (if that can influence anything??).

With that being said, i believe you would also need some luck all the planets to align - It usually gets between 3 - 6 wins, but today it just took it all the way. So that was impressive.
I mean, i guess it had to happen sooner or later, but it also took down 2 - 3 Legendary cardbacks along the way - So i am just saying - Huge shoutout to the bot creators and the masterminds behind silver.dll !
