Hello. I was making some configs with VisionAI along with Combos. The Combos weren't for combo decks, but rather good moves one should play at certain times (ex. coin Wild Growth if you have Jade Blossoms in hand, or Fandral-Nourish when having less than 8 cards). However, I noticed that the bot won't play some combo cards when it cannot perform the combo (ex. the only cards bot can play when I had 5/7 mana were Wild Growth and Jade Blossoms, this would get me to 10 and it was better every single time than just passing, yet the bot passed, presumably because I have 2 combos with each of these).
This led me to believe that Combos are a necessary evil, or in other words, that I should never use them for things other than sheer combos (as in moves with 4+ moves). I see that some configs without combos reach rank 5, but mine keeps barely 67% winrate in unranked. So, what I'm wondering is - should you use combos for some of these micro, yet super good plays, or is VisionAI smart enough to recognise such a small pattern (such as Coin >> Wild Growth >-> Jade Blossoms turn 1 if you have the coin)?
