He is obviously using a youtube bot to get inflated numbers for his channel.
That's all this contest is going to do. The amount of legitimate viewership for anything won't be that high because of the spread like you mentioned. Instead of exposure you are just going to get an illegitimate numbers game and only increase the risk for current users to get caught.
On the off chance one of these videos really does take off though, that 15 days is actually plenty of time for videos to reach viral status anyways. Short term would be like 5 days to a week max.
