I got Hearthranger and moved to the C:/ folder but there is no unlock button when I go to properties on any of the .dll or .exe files and i have no gpedit.msc on my windows 8.

Then you can just give it a try, run it once and check it works or not, usually it will work.

I tried it and my bot doesn't do anything when it is my turn except press the end turn button.

Can you try to run it as administrator ?
