I am buying 1 year sub every year. I was going to extend another one and I was surprised that for $20 transaction I need to pay + $38,20 of network fee. All in all $58,20 to transfer $20. I don't remember it being that high. I use coinbase. I am noob in crypto world. Is there way around this or this is normal cost of transactions in bitcoin these days ?

Yes, the recent craze for minting on bitcoin network has led to excessively high Bitcoin transaction fees. Hopefully, the transaction costs can come down after some time.
