Making this forum/site private should be strongly considered. Blizzard and other big game companies have been going directly after companies, and winning, recently. It does seem like a better strategy than trying to detect cheats in-game (which they'll still continue to do) -- go after the source.

I don't know the best way to go about this though. Maybe removing direct pay from the bot (make it "open-source" or something like that) and introduce the paywall for forum access (or access to a particular section). That might provide some protection for the hosts, if ....

how does making the forums private help? couldnt blizzard just make accounts to see what's going on here?

also I think Blizzard is mostly targeting Overwatch and WoW. HS only to some small degree.

Why do you added Hearthbuddy in the title when the link in question is about Bossland which has nothing to do with Hearthstone?

Point taken. The link in question and some other sites I visited that wrote about the case explicitly stated the other games, failing to mention Hearthstone.

This forum could turn to an invitation only community. Sharing this to friends etc is strong, I don't think HearthRanger is being marketed much either, so most people join through other people anyway.
